Obituary of Paul R. Caron, Sr.
Paul Caron, Sr., 72, of Country Club Road, Dayville, passed away at his home Sunday, December 2, 2012, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Fall) Caron. He was born July 18, 1940 in Putnam, son of the late Antonio and Albina Caron.
Paul owned and operated the Wildwood Park Restaurant with his wife and familyfor 17 years. He last worked for the Town of Putnam as an operator with the Water Pollution Control Authority, retiring in 2012 after 14 years. He also was a truck driver for Crabtree and Evelyn. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Dayville, a 50 year member of the Danielson Knights of Columbus. Paul loved traveling the world and visiting the casino.
He leaves his wife Margaret of 28 years, six daughters: Catherine Briere and her husband Emil; Denise LaBranche and her husband Ron; C. Marie Haggerty and her husband Ken; Michelle Renaud and her husband Gary; Karen-Ann Caron; Nicole Caron, a sister Elaine Arters, a brother Ernest Caron, 14 grandchildren, 8great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Paul Caron, Jr. in May 2011.
Calling hours Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon at St. Joseph Church, 350 Hartford Pike, Dayville, CT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
