Obituary of Florence C. Cote

Florence C. Cote, 88 of Danielson, died Sunday, December 2, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Henry Cote, they were married January 20, 1944 in Jersey City, NJ, he died in 1965. She was born October 4, 1924 in Jersey City, NJ, daughter of the late James and Cecelia (Wojciechowski) McHugh.

She has made her home in Danielson since 1946, moving from Jersey City, a communicant of St. James Church, a member of the VFWLadies Auxiliary #2650 and the Daughters of Isabella. Florence worked in the cafeteria at the Killingly High School for several years, retiring in 2000, she had also worked at Deary Brothers, Arrow-Hart, Rogers Corporation and Anchor Glass. Florence loved bingo, dancing, helping others and most of all socializing.

She leaves her children: Margaret Kirby and her husband Lynn of Brooklyn; Richard Cote of Danielson; Patricia Derosier and her husband Rodney of Jewett City; Robert Cote and his wife Jackie of Danielson; Janice Auger of Danielson; Michelle Cline of Jersey City, NJ; Gregory Cote of Danielson; Kim Rovero and her husband Malcom of Thompson; Douglas Cote and his wife Doreen of Thompson; Kelley Cote of Rhode Island; a sister Cecelia Donovan of Danielson; 12 grandchildren, several greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Theresa Smardjewski and a son-in-law William Cline.

Funeral will be Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 9:00 AM from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. Calling Hours Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
