Obituary of Mary Jane Guertin

Mary Jane Guertin, 78, formally of Putnam, but recently resided with her loving daughter Claudette Hill and family in Plainfield, CT, peacefully passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Henry Guertin who passed February 8, 2008. She was born November 11, 1933 in Norwich, daughter of the late Cleo Sr. and Lena (Louis) Laroche. Mary Jane is survived by daughter by Claudette Hill and son-in-law Kevin O'Brien; daughter Terry Wilson and son-in-law Jon Wilson; son Henry Guertin II; grandchildren; Amanda, Bhavin, Patrick, Tessa and William. Mary Jane is also survived by her sister Rita and brother-in-law Walter, sister Rose of California, a sister-in-law Gail of Plainfield. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband a brother Cleo Jr., sister Terry, and her aunt, Rose Richmond who Mary Jane cared for. Mary Jane worked for Linemaster as an assembler until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, solving word puzzles, sitting on the porch and watching the birds, watching her beloved UCONN Women's Basketball Team, talking on the phone with Rita and friends, as well as baking her granddaughter Amanda her favorite pie. She will be missed greatly by her daughter Claudette Hill, whom which she resided with for five years until her passing. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Ron Klare and the staff of Woodstock Medical for taking such great care of Mary Jane for so many years, as well as a special thank you to Masonicare Home Health and Hospice Nurses, Bill and Noah, for moving so quickly to fulfill her wish to pass at home. In addition a thank you to Monique and David two special nurses who cared for her in her last days, and the many RN's and CNA's at the hospital on the 1st floor and the ICU.
