Barry John Bernards May 14, 1950 - January 18, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barry John Bernards on January 18th, 2025, at the age of 74. Barry's enduring spirit and boundless love will be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Barry is survived by his devoted wife, Celeste Bernards, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and love. He leaves behind his children, Tracie Spencer (Brent), Jason Bernards (Vera), Shea Akers (Brandon) and Barry's sister, Jillyn Jones.

Barry also leaves behind nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Additionally, Barry leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Barry is predeceased by his parents, Bill and June Bernards; his brother, Chic Bernards; and his sister, Janyth Sisneros.

Barry served in the Navy during the Vietnam conflict. When he returned home, he joined the West Jordan Police Department, where he earned the rank of Sergeant. His dedication to service, both in the military and in law enforcement, exemplified his unwavering commitment to his community and country.

Barry was the founder of Escalante Outfitters in Escalante, Utah, where he made many lifelong friends and was affectionately known as the "Pizza Man." Barry was loved for his personality, loving heart, and contagious smile. Barry loved the outdoors, whether it was hiking, fishing, or just working in the yard. His passion for nature and his zest for life will always be remembered by those who knew him.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Rest in peace, dear Barry. You will be missed beyond measure.
