I remember back to 1999 the first Sunday I came to Putnam Baptist, one of the magnetic attractions the Lord used was hearing In The Garden being played so beautifully by Dorine at the pipe organ. That hymn has drawn so many into our church and for me has always been a favorite. I would even sing it as I worked in my garden before coming to PBC and going to church on a regular basis.
To watch Dorine's hands on a keyboard was like seeing the beauty in a rippling stream, gentle and sure of each movement, creating a melody for us to follow. Many times she told me "I don't know how I played it? I felt the Lord was taking over my hands and all I had to do was sit there!" I believe He did guide her throughout her life and is now, as well.
Looking into her blue eyes you knew there were stories to come. She traveled with her "Project" ever ready to open the eyes of a stranger to Jesus and His love. Many have been touched by her words and thoughts, whether it was a chance meeting at the market or a explanation given at Bible Study or Prayer Meeting. She had a way of getting through to us if we were confused.
I am blessed to have been one she called her friend and sister in the Lord. I will remember her always. "God Bless You." I know your in good hands.

Dorine was a very unique and special lady. During the all too short time that I knew her , we developed a special rapport. It was my pleasure to know her, and an honor to be able to care for her during the last days of her journey Home. I have no doubt the Lord was holding a special place for her in Heaven. Be at peace "My Lady". You will be missed and remembered.
