Obituary of Doris D. Keach
Doris D. Keach, 92, formerly of Thayer Street, Putnam, died Friday, January 9, 2008 at the Bayberry Commons in Pascoag, RI. She was the wife of the late Herbert Wayland Keach, he died 1970. She was born October 9, 1916 in Worcester, MA, daughter of Leonard and Helen (Lussier) Diamond.
She worked for many years as a secretary at the former Putnam Hertzel Company and their credit union. She was an active long time member of the Putnam United Methodist Church, serving on many boards and committees. She was very active with Community Kitchens. She enjoyed knitting, reading, cooking, sewing, and her dogs. She also was active with the Girl Scouts and served on the troop committee.
She leaves her daughters: Muriel Stewartson of Winter Springs, FL; Patricia Fenner and husband Earnest of Woodstock; Kathleen Ames and husband Leonard of Thompson; Pamela Perry and husband Edwin of Woodstock, sister Helen Woodis and husband Leslie of Putnam; grandchildren: William Aldrich of Plainfield; Paul Aldrich of Woodstock; Herbert Stewartson of Sanford, FL; Michael Fenner of Danielson; Debra Bruce of Putnam; Mark Fenner of Plainfield; Earnest Fenner, Jr. of Woodstock; Rebecca Fenner of Attawaugan; Leonard Martel of Thompson; Melissa Wisnieski of Danielson; Scott and Amy Martel of Thompson; Edwin Perry, Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK; twenty great grandchildren; two great great granddaughters.
A memorial service will be Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Putnam United Methodist Church, 53 Grove Street, Putnam. In lieu of flowers donations to the Music Fund of the Putnam United Methodist Church, 53 Grove Street, Putnam, CT 06260. To share a memory "Light a Candle" at www.smithandwalkerfh.com
