Obituary of Edward J. Doucette, Sr.
Edward J. Doucette, Sr., 59 of Pasay Road, N. Grosvenordale, died Thursday morning at his home. He was the beloved husband of Cathy-Joy (Germain) Doucette. He was born October 5, 1949 in Putnam, son of Virginia (Curran) Doucette of Thompson and the late Robert Doucette.
He made his home in Thompson all his life, worked many years as a truck driver. He was a life member of the East Thompson Volunteer Fire Department, serving the department for 30 years. Ed was an EMT with Community Ambulance for 15 years. He enjoyed Auto Racing, the Thompson Speedway, and NASCAR traveling to NH and North Carolina to watch a race. Deep sea fishing and golf were some of his hobbies. His greatest love was his grandchildren; caring for them and watching them grow.
He leaves his wife Cathy-Joy of 38 years, his children Edward Doucette, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Dayville; Tracy Doucette of N. Grosvenordale; Robert Doucette of Palmer, MA; Victor Doucette and his wife Holly of Putnam; siblings: Carol Nadeau of FL; Linda Mannis and her husband Norman of FL; Doreen Cote and her husband Doug of Putnam; 15 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law: Kit Carpenter of Bridgeport; sisters-in-law JoNell Cartier and her husband Scott of Brooklyn; Corinne Morin of Danielson.
