Obituary of Leslie P. Woodis

Leslie P. Woodis, 97, of Putnam, died Thursday February 28, 2013 at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Diamond) Woodis; they were married May 29, 1935, she died June 16, 2010. He was born April 2, 1915 in Putnam, son of the late Elbert and Mabelle (Williams) Woodis.

Leslie worked in the maintenance department at the American Optical Company in Putnam, for over 25 years. He made his home in Putnam all his life. He leaves his children: Wayne Woodis of King George, VA; David Woodis of Pascoag, RI; Cynthia Curran of New York, NY; June Meadows of Mentor, OH; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Iva Woodis of Killingly; Pauline Woodis of Hamden; a brother-in-law John Woodfall of Amesbury, MA; nieces and nephews.

The Funeral will be Saturday March 2, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. Calling hour will be Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
