Obituary of E. Eileen Gardner

E. Eileen Gardner, 85, of Woodstock died Saturday April 4, 2009 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Warner E. Gardner; they were married June 17, 1950 at the South Woodstock Baptist Church. She was born October 24, 1923 in Woodstock, daughter of the late Wayland and Sarah Elsie (Young) Marcy. Eileen made her home in Woodstock all of her life. She was a member of the South Woodstock Baptist Church, and taught Sunday School for many years. They had an orchard of many fruits of which she generously gave away to friends and neighbors. For many years she worked for NE Homemakers until she retired. She leaves her husband Warner, two sisters Muriel Sandness of Woodstock, Hazel Froehlich of Woodstock, nieces and nephews: Paul Froehlich and his wife Lisa, Rhonda Righenzi and her husband Robert, Donia G. Froehlich and her husband Joe Labbay, Susan Lalumiere and her husband Michael, Gina Morris and her husband Henry, many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Russell Marcy in 1989. Calling Hours are Friday, April 17, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, April 18, 2009, at 11:00 AM in the South Woodstock Baptist Church, 23 Roseland Park Road, South Woodstock, CT, private burial in Oakridge Cemetery in Southbridge.
