Obituary of Joseph L Silbermann

Joseph Leon Silbermann, 62, of Brooklyn, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 9th. The son of Dorothy Silbermann of Mertztown, PA and the late Oscar Leon Silbermann. Joe was born in Bethlehem, PA and made his home in eastern CT for more than 40 years. He was a 1966 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New Haven, Connecticut and was a restaurateur in Massachusetts and Connecticut throughout his career. He served in the United States Army from 1966-1968 at Ft. Knox KY. He was a dedicated family man. In addition to his mother, he leaves a son, Mathieu Silbermann, his wife Ellen and two granddaughters all of Union, CT; two brothers, Peter and Lisa Silbermann of Mertztown, PA, David and Maria Silbermann of Baldwinsville, NY; two sisters, Janet and Charlie Burgermeister of Bethlehem, PA, and Patricia and Paul Haradem of Wyoming, PA; two nieces and seven nephews. A private celebration of his life will be held in CT and a memorial service will be held in his hometown of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
