Putnam-Woodrow "Woody" James Ogden, 66, of Putnam, died Monday, June 24, 2013 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA. Beloved husband of Rose (Rickey) Ogden, they were married for 44 years. He was born August 14, 1946 in Lincoln, ME, son of Myron Ogden, Sr., and Jeannette (Smith) Jimmo. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle. He was a construction worker with Local Union 230 for many years; he was a veteran of the Vietnam era serving with the U.S. Army and also was a member of the Army National Guard. Woody was an avid woodsman, clearing hundreds of acres throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed Saturday mornings playing cards and horse shoes with the guys. Woody had a very creative mind which allowed him and his wife to design and build their log cabin home, which Woody took great pride in. Woody had a sense of humor like no other; hardly a moment went by without a practical joke or witty remark. Woody leaves his father Myron Ogden of Greenbush, ME, mother Jeannette Jimmo of Quinebaug, CT, wife Rose of Putnam, two daughters, Robin Diranian and her husband Michael of Lynnfield, MA, Penny L. Ogden of Stoneham, MA, six grandchildren, Jacob (Booboo), Ethan (Rocky), Lauren (Peaches), Ava (Lulu), Evan (Duke), Anna (Baby Girl) Diranian, his step mother Faralyn Ogden, a sister Marlene Ogden of Woodstock, CT, a brother Myron Ogden, Jr., of Fremont, NH. Also, leaves behind good friend and brother-in-law Arthur "Bucky" Rickey. He was predeceased by his stepfather Sidney Jimmo, brother Norman Ogden and father and mother-in-law Arthur and Rita Rickey. Calling hours will be Friday, June 28, 2013 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT, with a service at 3:00 PM, followed by Military Honors in St. Mary Cemetery, Putnam.
